“On Thursday we hosted Chetek,” said
Coach Melissa Smith. “Our JV and C-team did a great job playing right with
Chetek. The JV lost their match, 12-25, 18-25, but won the extra game 17-15.
Our C-team lost their match but in very close games, 24-26 and 20-25. I am
impressed at how the girls work each week and keep on improving.
“Varsity went into our match with
Chetek knowing that we would need to work hard. One of our starters was out,
and we pulled our starting setter to right hitter and pulled up a JV setter,
Lauren Johnson. She did a great job working with the varsity team. We couldn’t
quite get our routine down and ended up losing the match, 11-25, 13-25, and
11-25. As a young team we will continue to work on refining our skills and
working as a team.”
